8 Tips to Buy or Sell an Apartments in London

8 Tips to Buy or Sell an Apartments in London
GENERAL

With vast areas, open lands and green spaces spread across the city, no wonder people are seen migrating into the city quite often. Families who move to the UK typically spend a lot of time exploring different locations. It is impossible to forecast how lengthy the buying or selling process will take, and nobody knows. When in doubt they approach the Clapham estate agent to minimise the time taken and the efforts entangled in this process and get the deals closed at the earliest.

CHECK FOR THE FURNISHINGS

There are several new and vintage flats and apartments available in London, including apartments above stores, converted homes, modern property developments, and properties that have been transformed into apartments. The price of a property entirely depends on the kind of additions done to it. Based on the type of property- unfurnished, semi and fully furnished, the buying and selling prices keep increasing accordingly. People who wish to avoid the hassle of buying things from scratch would obviously prefer fully furnished properties.

COMPETITIVE PRICING

In any real estate market, determining the right price for a property has enhanced the possibility for it to sell, but in the present one, it is much more essential. Due to low supply and buyers being turned off by high mortgage interest rates, prices set too high may result in a home remaining on the marketplace for a longer time frame. You should remain steadfast in the chosen selling strategy while your house hits the industry and avoid changing it.

EXPLORE THE NEIGHBOURHOOD THOROUGHLY

Before stepping into the property hunting process, deciding the location is very important. Choosing a neighbourhood depends on the closeness to the workplace and other regularly visiting spots. However, considering other factors like nearby amenities, overall safety during night time, and other necessary criteria. … Read the rest

Washington’s largest private, infill homebuilder partners with 425 Magazine to showcase modern luxury built with tranquil livability and innovation in mind

BELLEVUE, Wash., Jan. 12, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — MN CUSTOM HOMES, the state’s largest private homebuilder specializing in single-family, infill homesites, is pleased to announce that it has completed the second of its Northwest Idea Houses in partnership with 425 Magazine. The home is located in the Clyde Hill community at 9003 Points Drive and features five bedrooms ensuite with walk-in closets, separate bonus and theater rooms, and a main-floor generational retreat – all of which were featured in the January issue of 425 Magazine.

Modern luxury in a tranquil setting describes the Clyde Hill home set back among tall evergreens along Points Drive. Floor to ceiling windows, sheltered patios complete with grill, heat lamps and video bring the outdoors in. The home’s color palette in neutral hues of white, warm gray, blue, and charcoal create harmony and balance with their surrounding environment. Modern, textural finishes are incorporated with cabinetry and wallpaper, juxtaposing smooth white gloss against wood-grained textures. Hardware is minimal and unique, with tones of luxe onyx and stainless steel that allow the larger design elements to become the focus.

The home’s entry features a waterfall wall while the dining room offers a floor-to-ceiling, temperature-controlled wine wall and adjacent butler’s pantry. Also on the main floor is a generational or guest suite complete with bath, private patio, discrete kitchenette and dual washer/dryer in the closet. But the home’s piece de resistance is the upstairs family entertainment suite featuring an indoor play space with a golf and sports simulator and games for children. Next door is the Starlight Movie Theatre – the perfect spot to gather friends and family to view the big game – or big

Nova Scotia pledges to add 600 more rooms to long-term care homes in the province

Nova Scotia pledges to add 600 more rooms to long-term care homes in the province
HOME IMPROVEMENT

The Nova Scotia government says it’s adding 600 long-term care rooms across the province as the number of residents who are over 65 continues to grow.

This is in addition to the 600 new rooms that were previously announced last year, for a total of 1,200 new beds added to the province’s long-term care capacity.

The most recent data from the province shows that from July to September 2022, just under 2,000 people were on the waiting list for nursing homes and residential care facilities.

When asked how the new rooms would help with growing needs of seniors in the province, Barbara Adams, minister of long-term care, told reporters Wednesday that the government’s “two-pronged approach” involved not just more rooms, but further investment in care for people who want to remain in their homes.

She mentioned the Capable pilot program as an example. It pairs nurses, occupational therapists and trades people with seniors to create a plan for remaining in the home, as well as the Lift program to install lifts and other equipment in homes to help with mobility needs.

“‘Quickly’ is not something that you say in health care,” Adams said, adding that the government’s work has reduced waiting lists for home care from 1,500 people to less than 700.

“We know that we need more beds, but we also know that we need to do a better investment into home care,” Adams said.

Officials say the hope is to adequately prepare for current and future needs for long-term care and free up hospital beds for surgeries and other medical treatments. About 280 people are currently in hospital waiting for a placement in a long-term care facility.

“As we were doing an analysis of the trend in population growth and the wait list for each of

In his memoir, Spare, Prince Harry speaks extensively about how differently he and his brother, Prince William, the heir to the throne, have been treated all their lives.

The title of the book is a testament to that, alluding to the way in which Harry has always been seen as a “spare” by his father, King Charles III, and the institution, while William has always been prioritized as the heir. That favoritism has been shown in many ways over the years, per Harry, including in the brothers’ respective royal homes.

In Spare—a copy of which was obtained by BAZAAR.com ahead of its January 10 release—Harry recalls the time he first visited Prince William and Princess Kate’s renovated Kensington Palace residence, Apartment 1A, and instantly felt ashamed of his and wife Duchess Meghan’s Nottingham Cottage home.

Of the Waleses’ home, Harry writes, “The wallpaper, the ceiling trim, the walnut bookshelves filled with volumes of peaceful colors, priceless works of art.” He says, it was “magnificent” and “like a museum.”

Before and After: How Royal Wood transformed his childhood home in the Kawarthas into a paradise for his young family

“We had to repaint every square inch, gut all of the flooring, fix the plumbing and electrical, upgrade the furnace, install a new roof, and replace the windows and doors”

Royal Wood’s Tudor home in the Kawarthas

Royal Wood is an award-winning musician, an iTunes Songwriter of the Year and an international headliner. He’s now also an accomplished home renovator. After becoming parents in 2020, Wood and his wife, Alison, moved from their condo in Liberty Village to the artist’s childhood home: a century-old Tudor farmhouse in the Kawarthas, which the couple renovated from top to bottom. Here’s their story, in Wood’s own words.

—As told to Alex Cyr

I spent my childhood in the Kawarthas, on my parents’ hobby farm. My three older brothers, younger sister and I all worked the pastures—we fed cows, picked fruit, fixed fences and landscaped. My dad had grown up a farmer in the Windsor area and wanted his kids to develop a strong work ethic like his own. So a lot of our childhood was spent caring for our animals and maintaining our property. That all ended when I became a teenager. Once I discovered girls and music, I forgot about farm life and headed out into the world.

I left for Montreal and attended McGill with the dream of becoming a musician. Meanwhile, my siblings all did their own exploring, and our farm disintegrated into mostly deserted pastures.

By 2007, I was in my late 20s, and I concluded that making it as an Anglo artist in Quebec was a pipe dream. It was time to return to Toronto. The move was good for my career, and with newfound income,

Shared space: the family home in Hackney has a picture window with a cosy bench seat for the children to read and chat (Jim Stephenson 2022)

As anyone who has visited a family home knows, the old William Morris adage that a home should be beautiful and useful is easier said than done when accommodating young children. Urban design director Anna Mansfield and her husband, chief financial officer Ian Warren, faced this problem when they moved with their children to a five-bedroom fixer-upper in Hackney in 2018. The couple bought the Victorian terrace house in a London Fields conservation area for £1.3 million but the property felt worn out, with an old-fashioned layout and cramped feel.

By the time the pandemic hit, Mansfield was expecting the couple’s third child, and the strain of balancing home-schooling with working from home threw the house’s flaws into sharp relief. “We all felt very constrained. The house definitely didn’t work for modern family life,” remembers Mansfield, who had trained as an architect. “Loads of my friends are architects, so it made sense to go for someone we already knew.”

Without having to think about it too much, she and Warren settled on their good friends Camilla Parsons and Matthew Whittaker of award-winning practice Whittaker Parsons. “They place a big focus on collaboration and trust, which was very important to us,” explains Mansfield. The foursome were able to lay down some boundaries in advance. “We worked out some clear rules, like using email to talk about the house and keeping WhatsApp for all the friends’ stuff.”

Bryceland’s, it could be said, is your favorite men’s store’s favorite men’s store. Since opening its original Tokyo location in 2016, the shop has earned a cult following among stylists, designers, retailers and other industry insiders drawn to its vintage-inspired designs and relationships with specialist makers.

In all that time Bryceland’s has remained an exclusively Eastern Hemisphere affair, with its second store established in Hong Kong in 2017. But the brand has gone west at last, with the opening of its latest store in London’s Marylebone neighborhood.

More from Robb Report

Thanks to its online sales, Bryceland’s had already found a toehold in Great Britain and the Continent: co-founder Ethan Newton says that UK and EU sales have together accounted for about 20 percent of its overall business. He believes that a brick-and-mortar presence will help attract a broader range of clients from the UK and beyond.

“I think Europe should hopefully open that, and maybe get more customers coming in who are not necessarily from the rag trade but are in other industries,” he tells Robb Report.

It’s not difficult to see what drew menswear aficionados to Bryceland’s in the first place. Newton and his fellow cofounder Kenji Cheung are seasoned vintage collectors. This passion is realized across more than a half-dozen house labels that together represent a sort of alternate universe, one where Bryceland’s has been making the good stuff for decades.

For instance, the Cowboy Label draws on American western wear from the 1940s and ‘50s and includes the brand’s best-selling sawtooth western shirt. There’s Black Bean, whose Gurkha shorts, army chinos and safari jackets take inspiration from the sporting culture of the American Northeast (and Newton’s extensive collection of L.L. Bean catalogs). Bryce-Down, meanwhile, picks ups where the outerwear makers of the 1960s

Chicago, IL – January 20, 2023 – Zacks.com announces the list of stocks featured in the Analyst Blog. Every day the Zacks Equity Research analysts discuss the latest news and events impacting stocks and the financial markets. Stocks recently featured in the blog include: Casey’s General Stores, Inc.’s CASY, The Kroger Co. KR, Ulta Beauty, Inc. ULTA and Five Below, Inc. FIVE.

Here are highlights from Thursday’s Analyst Blog:

Inflation Hits Holiday Sales: 4 Retailers Still Worth a Look

Holiday season sales fell short of industry estimates, as consumers navigated soaring prices and high borrowing costs. Data compiled by the National Retail Federation (NRF) showed that holiday retail sales increased 5.3% year over year to $936.3 billion during 2022’s November-December period. However, the numbers came below NRF’s projection of 6% to 8% increase over the 2021 period to between $942.6 billion and $960.4 billion.

Nonetheless, stimulus savings from last year, steady wage gains and a lower unemployment rate still kept demand alive. While inflation-wary shoppers looked for eye-popping deals to fit their budgets, retailers left no stone unturned to make the most of the season.

Retailers — be it Casey’s General Stores, Inc.‘s, The Kroger Co., Ulta Beauty, Inc. and Five Below, Inc. — have been enhancing customer engagement and making logistics improvements to make the most of the festive season.

The NRF’s report highlighted a year-over-year increase in sales of myriad categories. Sales at grocery and beverage stores rose 7.8%, while the same at general merchandise stores increased 3.8%. Sporting goods stores registered sales growth of 3.5%, while health and personal care stores witnessed an increase of 2.8%.

Sales increased 2.2% at clothing and clothing accessory stores, while the metric jumped 1.5% at building materials and garden supply stores. However, demand at furniture and
